Read about Maziko, Alea, Felix and Esme

What are our Questions about the Sun, Moon and Stars?

Cruze's question is: Why is the sun very bright?

Ivan's question is: Why do we have day first and then night last?

Great questions boys, cant wait to find out the answers together!

Oliver shows Hawaiki how he can read smoothly.

I showed Hawaiki how to read 'peanut butter smooth' and I am a great reader like Hawaiki.
Typed by Oliver.

Oliver knows not to read like a robot. He knows that if his reading is smooth and fluent, he will understand the story better. His reading is smooth and sounds like talking because he has been practising at home each day and he has been reading his books not just once, but several times! Well done Oliver.

We love this quote in our new book "The Twits" by Roald Dahl

I like The Twits because it is funny. They even play tricks on each other.
Typed by Ayla

We like this quote "If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely"

What do Numbers really mean? Ask Room 14!

These are our 3D numbers. They show what each number means in many ways.

For example, 7 could be 4+3, or 10-3, or shown on a tens frame or as tally marks.

These were super fun- Visual Art using Maths.

Huge thanks to Miss Hong who made the number templates and helped us heaps.

Room 14 have finished reading "Georges Marvellous Medicine" By Roald Dahl

We really enjoyed this book and want to share our ideas about the book.

When Mrs Barlow was reading Georges Marvellous Medicine we all laughed because it was funny.
Felix and Hannah- Typed by Hannah

Mrs Barlow read a book to Room14. It was called Georges Marvellous Medicine. It was very funny. It is all about Georges making medicine that has lots of  steps. He made 4 medicines. I liked that the chickens neck got taller.

Scooter training with Constable Harwood

This week we were lucky to have Constable Harwood come in and talk to us about being safe on our scooters. We went for a ride and practised some of the things he taught us.

Mrs Charmley comes to visit

Today we had Mrs Charmley visit us. We wanted to know about her role and responsibilities in the school. We prepared questions for her and discussed what a visitor should see and hear when they visit us.
It was a super visit and we learnt so much about how clever and humble and lovely Mrs Charmley is- which we already knew;)
She has to have many skills to help our school run smoothly. Ka Pai to Room 14 for being attentive and respectful hosts.
