Noah, Esme and Joash discover maths through play

In maths each group gets a turn (once a week) to play with the maths trolley, they create and manipulate equipment.

Noah, Esme and Joash made a long tower out of unifix blocks. I asked them how long it was?
This is what they found out.


I learnt that it was 15 steps or feet (Joash feet) long. Joash

I used a ruler to measure it. It was 300cm or 3m long. Noah

It was 119 unifix blocks long. We showed the class what we did and what we learnt. Esme

Yum, Yum, Yum, Gingerbread for my Tum! and some Maths!!

We made Gingerbread biscuits to learn about measuring weight and capacity, temperature, and used different types of measurement, such as mils, grams, cups, teaspoons... What yummy learning.

Using adjectives to describe the four seasons.

We have been learning about the four seasons. We thought of adjectives to describe the seasons and made little books. Read what our favourite seasons are below, can you find the adjectives?
